(Rochester, NY) – The Rochester Americans announced that the team will open its 2016 Training Camp on Friday, Sept. 30 at HarborCenter in downtown Buffalo. The week-long camp is both free and open to the public.
New Amerks head coach Dan Lambert will have his team take the ice starting at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30 for the first official practice of the 2016-17 American Hockey League season. The schedule will remain the same through Friday, Oct. 7, with all practice sessions this year being held at HarborCenter.
On Thursday, Oct. 6, the Amerks will hold a 10:00 a.m. gameday skate prior to opening up their 2016 preseason schedule later that night with the first of two meetings against the Binghamton Senators. Game time is slated for a 7:05 p.m. start at HarborCenter.
All tickets for the home preseason game at HarborCenter will be reserved seating and are available for $10 each. Tickets can be purchased at www.tickets.com, through www.amerks.com, at the KeyBank Center Box Office or at the Amerks Main Office at The Blue Cross Arena. Amerks Season Ticket Members can purchase their tickets to the game for just $5.
HarborCenter is a 650,000 square-foot complex connected to the Buffalo Sabres’ First Niagara Center in downtown Buffalo. The complex features two NHL size rinks, including an 1,800-seat arena where the Amerks preseason game will take place, as well as 13 ADA compliant locker rooms, classroom and theater facilities, IMPACT Sports Performance training facility, a 205-room full service Marriott Hotel, (716) Food and Sport restaurant, a unique Tim Hortons Café & Bakeshop dedicated to the Sabres legend, parking and boutique retail shops.
Training camp will officially come to a close on Saturday, Oct. 8 after the Amerks and Senators square off for the second time in three nights as the preseason home-and-home series shifts to the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton.
