11 Statesmen Named AHCA All-American Scholars

Eleven members of the Hobart College ice hockey team were named All-American Scholars by the American Hockey Coaches Association. The new initiative recognizes varsity ice hockey players who averaged a 3.6 grade point average and participated in 40 percent of games during the 2016-17 season.

In the first year of the program, a total of 1,229 student-athletes received this honor. The following Statesmen garnered this recognition:

-Tyler Wolf, economics major

The Statesmen finished the 2016-17 season with a 20-5-4 overall record. It was Hobart’s third straight 20-win season and 15th consecutive winning season. The Statesmen earned the ECAC West tournament title for the third year in a row and advanced to the NCAA tournament for the seventh time in program history. Hobart finished the year ranked ninth in the final D3hockey.com poll and 10th in the final USCHO.com poll.
