LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – Twenty-three players who participated at the 2015 USA Hockey Women’s National Festival have been chosen for the 2015 U.S. Women’s Under-18 Select Team that will compete in a three-game series against Canada from Aug. 20-23 at the Lake Placid Olympic Center in Lake Placid, New York.
The USA Hockey Women’s National Festival took place Aug. 11-16 in Lake Placid.
The roster features seven players who helped the 2015 U.S. Women’s National Under-18 Team earn a gold medal at the International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Women’s World Championship in Buffalo, New York. They are Cayla Barnes (Corona, Calif.), Grace Bowlby (Minnetonka, Minn.), Rebecca Gilmore (Wayland, Mass.), Patricia Marshall (Thief River Falls, Minn.), Presley Norby (Shorewood, Minn.), Natalie Snodgrass (Eagan, Minn.) and Alex Woken (Fargo, N.D.).
The 23-player roster (eight defensemen, 12 forwards and three goaltenders) and staff listing is available here. The 23 players represent nine different states. Minnesota leads the pack with 14 representatives. California, Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Dakota and Rhode Island each have one.
NOTES: The three-game series vs. Canada is an annual event between the two countries and has been held each August since 2007.
