2018 US U18 Men’s National Team Opens Play Tomorrow at U18 Men’s Worlds

MAGNITOGORSK, Russia – The U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team opens play in the 2018 International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Men’s World Championship on Thursday (April 19) against Canada at Metallurg Ice Rink in Magnitogorsk, Russia.

The United States will play all its preliminary round games in Magnitogorsk, along with the other teams featured in Group A (Belarus, Canada, Switzerland and Sweden). Group B consists of the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Russia and Slovakia and will play its preliminary round games at Traktor Arena in Chelyabinsk, Russia.

The U.S. seeks its 11th gold medal in the event after capturing its tournament record 10th gold medal last year in Poprad and Spisska Nova Ves, Slovakia. Team USA has earned 14 straight medals, including gold in seven of the past nine tournaments. Overall, the U.S. boasts 15 medals at the IIHF U18 Men’s World Championship, the most of any country.

NHL Network will televise live every Team USA matchup and is the exclusive U.S. TV home for the entire IIHF Under-18 Men’s World Championship.
