COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Hockey today announced a pair of youth hockey games will precede the inaugural CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game on Sept. 29 at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, N.Y. The contests will feature some of the premier local youth hockey talent at the midget level, as well as youth hockey players from the East Coast.
The first game, which will begin at 12:30 p.m. (EDT), features two local midget teams: the Buffalo Saints 18U hosting the Amherst Knights 18U team. Immediately following that contest, the Buffalo Jr. Sabres 18U team will play host to the Greater Boston Jr. Bruins 18U squad at 2:30 p.m. (EDT). Both games are free of charge and open to the public.
The CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game, which is set for a 7 p.m. faceoff, will feature 40 of the top American prospects eligible for the 2013 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Four players from New York State are featured on the roster, including three from the Buffalo/Rochester region: Justin Bailey(Williamsville, N.Y.), Matt Lane (Rochester, N.Y.) and Sean Malone (West Seneca, N.Y.).
