It was Gold for Adirondack, Silver for NYC and Bronze for WNY in the 2013 Empire State Winter Games.
Games 10 and 11 were not posted until today so here is a wrap up on those two games.
NYC beat Long Island 14-4 with NY’s Alisha Cattelan making 8 saves and Long Island’s Danielle Glinski making 47.
NY goals came from Cherie Stewart, Ryan Geldner, Kathryn Kroleski (hat trick) Caroline Park, Annie Annunziato and five from Rebecca Fisher. Long Island’s Brittany Skudder had a hat trick and Samantha May put in one.
in Game 11 Adirondack shut Central out 11 – 0. Central split goal time between Lauren Dahm, who made 23 saves and Laura Gardner, who made 18 saves.
Putting Adirondack on the score board was Tara Akstull with a hat trick, Christine Powers with 2 and one goal each by Stephanie Holmes, Erin Farmer, Andrea Kilborne-Hill, Monique Raffery, Steph Moberg and Christine Sharlow.
On Sunday the final three games were played. (Game 13 has not been posted but Hudson Valley took Long Island in a game that saw Hudson Valley’s second goaltender going in for Long Island’s goalie after she was injured).
NYC beat Central 2-0 which put them in the silver position. Lauren Dahm was phenonmenal in goal for Central making 51 saves. NY’s Rebecca Fisher posted both goals the first in period one and the last in the third. NY’s Goaltender Alisha Cattelan made 13 saves.
The final game found Adirondack taking Western New York 5-2. WNY Goaltender Ashley Schneegold made 43 saves and Adirondack’s Johnston made 10 saves. Both WNY goals came from Katie Stack, one unassisted. Scoring for Adirondack was Rafferty (2), Sharlow, Kilborne-Hill and Akstull.
