Chubak Wraps Up Season With AHA Goalie of the Week Honors

HAVERHILL, Mass. – For the eighth time this season, goaltender Carsen Chubak  was named Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Week after finishing the 2012-13 campaign with a solid showing against No. 7 North Dakota in the NCAA West Regional Semifinal on Friday.

During the program’s fourth trip to the NCAA Tournament, the Prince Albert, Sask. native made 41 saves against UND at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich. in 58:18 minutes of play.

The 2013 Top 10 Hobey Baker finalist finished the season with a 23-7-5 record, making 1028 saves.  He ended the 2012-13 campaign ranked seventh in the nation in goals-against average (1.91), and fourth in the nation in save percentage (.939).  Chubak, who was also a two-time AHA Goalie of the Month honoree, is tied for the top spot in shutouts (6) in the country.

Chubak found himself in Niagara’s record book in a variety of categories, including ranking second on the Single-Season Shutout list (6), Single-Season Games list (35), Single Season Saves list (1028) and Single-Season Minutes Played list (2100:46).
