AMHERST- The Buffalo Jr. Sabres fell short Wednesday night as they lost their third game of the season to Jr. Canadiens from Toronto. The final was 5-2 as the Canadiens scored late in the third to put an end to the night at the Northtown Center at Amherst.
After a scoreless first period the Toronto Jr. Canadiens opened the scoring early into the second period. The Jr. Canadiens followed up with two more goals before the period ended, leaving the score 3-0 at the end of two periods.
Being Down three goals going into the third the Jr. Sabres responded quickly with a goal from Josh Gabriel (Lancaster, NY) with the assist coming from Nick Smith (North Tonawanda, NY). Shortly after that the Jr. Sabres brought the score within one with a power play goal from Max Mikowski (Fredonia, NY) with assist coming from Nick DeSimone and Daniel Lafontaine.
The Toronto Jr. Canadians answered with two more goals making the final 5-2 Toronto. Buffalo’s goalie Brandon Mueller (East Amherst, NY) stopped 24 of the 29 shots he faced.
The Jr, Sabres (2-1) next host the Orangeville Flyers on Tuesday, September 17, at the Northtown Center at Amherst, beginning at 7:30 P.M
