USA Hockey today announced additional details surrounding its 2013 U.S. Men’s National University Team, which will compete in the Winter World University Games Dec. 10-21 in Trentino, Italy.
TWELVE PLAYERS ADDED TO U.S. ROSTER
Twelve players have been added to the U.S. Men’s National University Team roster. The U.S. team is comprised of players from collegiate ice hockey teams affiliated with the American Collegiate Hockey Association.
Four players that were selected to the 2013 ACHA Men’s Division I All-Star Teams highlight the new additions to the roster, including forwards Jon Feavel (North Pole, Alaska/Iowa State University) and Nick Taurence (Trenton, Mich./Eastern Michigan University); defenseman Duncan Green (Athens, Ohio/Ohio University); and goaltender Matt Cooper (Duluth, Minn./Iowa State University).
Rounding out the roster are juniors Billy Balent (Waterford, Mich./Oakland University), Steve Brancheau(River Rouge, Mich./Lindenwood University) and Ryan Cotcamp (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./Stony Brook University), sophomore Bobby Bodette (Garden City, Mich./Adrian College), Andre Rakas (Holt, Mich./Adrian College) and Taylor Wolfe (Eden Prairie, Minn./Lindenwood University), and freshmen Sean Murphy (Cary, N.C./Arizona State University) and Alex Temby (Littleton, Colo./Arizona State University).

TEAM USA SUPPORT STAFF SELECTED
The support staff, which will assist the 2013 U.S. Men’s National University Team leading up to and during the Games, has been selected.
The group includes general manager Dr. Alan Murdoch (Ames, Iowa), who has worked with all seven U.S. Men’s National University Teams, team leader Ashley Bevan (Colorado Springs, Colo.), USA Hockey’s senior director of adult ice hockey, team doctor Douglas Evans (Chicago, Ill.), who served in that same capacity for the 2011 U.S. Men’s and Women’s National University Teams, athletic trainer Jennifer Janczak(Romeoville, Ill.), head athletic trainer at Lewis University, equipment manager Graham Pepperman (State College, Pa.), who held that same role for the 2011 U.S. Men’s National University Team and currently works as an equipment manager for the Penn State University women’s ice hockey team, and video coordinatorBrian Moran (West Bloomfield, Mich.), commissioner of ACHA Men’s Division I hockey.
U.S. MEN’S NATIONAL UNIVERSITY TEAM TO PLAY ONE PRE-TOURNAMENT GAME
The 2013 U.S. Men’s National University Team will participate in a pre-tournament game against HC Fassa, a member of Italy’s Serie A, the top professional league in the country.
The contest, which is part of Team USA’s preparations for the 2013 Winter World University Games, will take place at the Gianmario Scola Ice Stadium in Alba de Canazei, Italy, on Dec. 8 at 7 p.m.

Sean Hogan (Tucson, Ariz.), head coach of the men’s ice hockey team at the University of Arizona, and Dan Phelps (Livonia, Mich.), head coach of Adrian College’s men’s ice hockey team, will serve as assistant coaches. Phelps was an assistant coach with Balboni during the 2011 Games … Five alternates were also selected, including forwards Michael Harris (Silver Spring, Md./Ohio University), J.P. Kascsak(Springfield, Va./Iowa State University) and Jared McIntosh (Fairfield, Calif./Minot State University); defensemen Alex Miller (Ann Arbor, Mich./Stony Brook University) and Drew Newmeyer (Scottsdale, Ariz./Arizona State University); and goaltender Phil Graveline (Grand Rapids, Mich./Davenport University) … The United States will field a men’s ice hockey team in the Winter World University Games for the seventh straight time. Team USA finished sixth in the 2011 Winter World University Games.
