The Buffalo Stars 19u girls hockey team have ended their preseason schedule on a winning note.
They managed to take their rugged preseason schedule and turn it into a win in their first league game. This preseason has proven exceptionally difficult as they have a 2-1 record in their college series against college club teams and have played the balance of their preseason games against some stiff competition.
They began a rivalry with the Hamburg Hawks Sr B team which is composed of former Div I and Div III college players, and then the week before league play, they went to St Catherine’s, Ontario and played against threeIntermediate A level teams in tournament play.
All of this has led them to an opening weekend of regular season play defeating the Erie Lady Lions 5-0 with a vast majority of the game being played in the opposing team’s end of the ice.
They now head off to Oswego to take on Skaneateles 19u girls in a weekend double header. Look for more good things from this exceptional group of girls.
