POTSDAM, N.Y.—The same SUNY Potsdam women’s hockey duo that was honored
last week by the ECAC West has been honored again. Jordan Ott (Hilton,
N.Y./Rochester Edge) wins her eighth conference Rookie of the Week award
in 15 weeks, while teammate Amanda Lucky (Kanata, Ontario/Clarkson
University) remains on the honor roll.
Ott added six more points to her program record-setting total in two
contests against Utica as the Bears wrapped up the regular season. She
recorded her second hat trick of the season with three goals, including
the game-tying tally, and tacked on an assist in Potsdam’s 4-4 draw with
the Pioneers on Saturday. On Sunday, she added contributed two more
assists as Potsdam fell 6-4 at Utica.
The freshman now holds the Bears’ single-season records in goals (22) and
points (36) as she leads the team in scoring. Ott is now sixth in the
nation, second among rookies, with 1.50 points-per-game. Ott is also
second nationally in goals-per-game (0.92) and power-play goals (9).
Lucky recorded five more points in a strong weekend against Utica College.
She had three assists in Potsdam’s draw with the Pioneers on Saturday. She
added a goal and another assist on Sunday.
The senior assistant captain is third on the team in scoring with 12 goals
and 18 assists for 30 points. She is just the fourth Bear to reach the
30-point plateau ever. Lucky is averaging 1.20 points-per-game, placing
her 20th in scoring in the NCAA.
The Bears (12-9-4, 7-5-4 ECAC West) are the fifth seed in the upcoming
ECAC West Tournament. They will travel to fourth-seeded Utica on Sunday,
March 2, for a noon rematch of last year’s first round matchup.
