Sophomore goaltender Charlie Finn made 28 saves to record his second straight shutout as fourth-ranked Colgate posted a 3-0 victory over visiting Northeastern in collegiate men’s ice hockey action Saturday at Starr Rink.
Finn stymied the Huskies attack for a second straight contest, making 22 of his 28 stops during the final two periods to tally his third career shutout.
Sophomore Derek Freeman scored the game-winning goal less than two minutes into the second period. Juniors Mike Borkowski and Kyle Baun added insurance tallies in the third to help pace the Raiders to the weekend sweep.

How It Happened
– Freeman opened the scoring at the 1:55 mark of the second period, knocking home a loose puck from just off the left post for his first goal of the season. Fellow sophomores Tim Harrison and Andrew Black were credited with assists on the play.
– Borkowski doubled the Raiders advantage to 2-0 just 53 seconds into the third period, converting a feed from senior Joe Wilson in the slot for his first goal of the season. Junior Darcy Wilson also picked up an assist on the play.
– Baun closed out the scoring for the second straight contest with a power play goal late in the third period. Junior Tyson Spink started the play gaining entry to the Huskies’ zone before making handing the puck off to Borkowski. Borkowksi worked his way down the left side before finding a hard-charging Baun in the slot, where he buried the puck into the back of the net to give the Raiders a 3-0 margin.
