SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Comebacks are becoming habit forming for Union.

For the second night in a row, Union staged a third-period comeback to fuel a 3-2 win over Clarkson in the regular season finale at Messa Rink. Union finished 10th in the ECAC Hockey standings, and will travel to No. 7 seed Cornell next weekend (March 6-8) in a first round, best-of-three series.

Clarkson built a 2-0 lead on second period goals from Kevin Tansey and Joe Zarbo. Union however, cut the lead in half just before the end of the second period on Ryan Scarfo’s 10th goal of the season, which leads all rookies on the team.

Scarfo setup Max Novak’s game-tying goal 3:49 into the third period and freshman Tyler Hynes put the finishing touches on the comeback with his goal at the 11:38 mark.

Colin Stevens made 21 saves to earn his 50th career win.

Notes:
The win gave Union a sweep of the season series, and extended the team’s winning streak on Senior Night to eight straight years.
