Nine RIT Men’s Hockey Players Named to Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team

ROCHESTER, NY — Nine RIT men’s hockey players earned 2014-15 Atlantic Hockey Conference All-Academic team honors on Tuesday, June 30. Out of the nine players selected, five are repeat honorees, including Brad Reid (Delta, British Columbia/Coquitlam Express), who was honored for the fourth time. Alexander Kuqali (Pittsburgh, PA/Sioux City Musketeers) was named a 2014-15 Atlantic Hockey Student-Athlete of the Year for posting a 4.0 grade-point average. Eight AHC student-athletes recorded a 4.0 GPA in 2014-15.

In its 12th year of existence, Atlantic Hockey has continued its high standard in the classroom for student-athletes, as 190 have earned a spot on the Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team. This season, 100 student-athletes have been named multiple times on the All-Academic Team, with 18 players earning their fourth appearance. In addition, 39 are appearing for the third time, while 43 are being honored for the second time.

To qualify for the Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team an individual must post a 3.0 grade point average or higher in all of the academic periods during which his team was actively competing.
