Bears Men’s Hockey Picked 5th In SUNYAC Preseason Poll

CORTLAND, N.Y.-The SUNY Potsdam men’s hockey team has been picked to finish fifth in the 2015-16 State University of New York Athletic Conference’s Preseason Poll. The Bears garnered 34 points in the the poll, which is voted on by the conference’s nine head coaches. Defending regular season and tournament champion SUNY Plattsburgh was picked to repeat with 62 votes. The top six teams in the SUNYAC qualify for the playoffs.

Potsdam finished the 2014-15 campaign with a 12-11-3 record (8-6-2 SUNYAC). The Bears went 5-1 on the road to close out the regular season, including an upset of No. 1 Oswego State, earning the fourth seed in the conference playoffs.

Potsdam opens this season with a home game against Morrisville State at 7 p.m. on Oct. 30.
