Behind a great game by Jared Karas, who had two goals and two assists, Jersey Shore defeated Lockport, 10-2.
Karas’ tallies came on the power play at 13:14 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Jersey Shore and on the power play 7:09 into the third to make the score 9-2 Jersey Shore.
Lockport was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as Jersey Shore was able to score four times while on the power play.
Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 13:52 into the third period. Eight fighting penalties were dished out along with three game misconducts.

John Rubin also scored for Jersey Shore. Other players who recorded assists for Jersey Shore were Marcus McCall, who had two, Alexander Tan, who had three, and Michael Fary, Craig Berry, and Bogdan Khvatov, who each chipped in one.
Lockport racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 14 minors and four majors for 128 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 34.0 minutes per game Lockport had been spending in the box. Lockport’s offense operated below its season average. Lockport puts an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game.
Lockport was helped by Fankie Bodami, who registered one goal. Bodami scored 4:45 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lockport. Mark Friol assisted on the tally. Lockport also got a goal from Erick Santiago as well. More assists for Lockport came via Nicholas Wilcox, who had one.
Jersey Shore’s Bobby Dovenero stopped 28 shots out of the 30 that he faced. For Jersey Shore, Tan and Rubin were ejected from the contest. Schiess rejected 59 shots on goal for Lockport. Team’s Anthony Tomassi, Gibson Stuart, and Friol were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
