NWHL Announces All-Star Fantasy Draft Results

New York, NY— Hilary Knight, Emily Pfalzer and the National Women’s Hockey League have announced 22 of the 26 players who will join them for the inaugural All-Star Game in Buffalo, New York on January 24, 2016.

These players were allocated through a Fantasy Draft held on social media earlier this afternoon.

Team Pfalzer: Brianna Decker, Meghan Duggan, Kelley Stedman, Nana Fujimoto, Megan Bozek, Gigi Marvin, Blake Bolden, Brittany Ott, Shiann Darkangelo, Emily Field, Zoe Hickel.

Team Knight: Kacey Bellamy, Kelli Stack, Kaleigh Fratkin, Janine Weber, Jaimie Leonoff, Alyssa Gagliardi, Jordan Smelker, Brianne McLaughlin, Shelby Bram, Amanda Pelkey, Jordan Brickner.

Fans will have the opportunity to vote for the final two players on each team using social media.

The game’s format will be four-on-four for two 20 minute periods. The winning team will receive 20% of the ticket sales profits, to be split equally among its members. The All-Star Game will also feature a skills competition with shooting accuracy, fastest skater, trick shot and agility obstacle course events.

All-Star festivities commence on Saturday night with a VIP Skate With The Stars featuring the players themselves. This ticketed event, limited to 80 people, allows fans to get on the ice with the NWHL’s All-Stars and runs from 8:45 PM – 10:30 PM. Fans should bring their ice skates, as rentals will not be provided.
