UTICA, NY- Freshman Danielle Haasbeek (Grand Forks, ND/Balmoral Hall) of the Utica College women’s hockey team was named to the D3hockey.com National Team of the Week, released Monday.
Haasbeek saw an expanded role on the Pioneer blue line due to a pair of key injuries, and she did not disappoint. She netted her first career goal, the eventual game winner and added an assist in Utica’s 4-0 win over Morrisville on Wednesday. She finished the week with a plus/minus rating of +3 and helped Utica extend its shutout streak to four games, before Williams broke the streak on Saturday.
On the season, she has totaled three points (one goal, one assist) and she leads all defensemen with a plus-eight rating.
The Pioneers have jumped out to a great start to their 2015-16 campaign as they sit at 9-3-1 (5-2-1 ECAC West)… Utica returns to action on Jan. 10 as it hosts Norwich University.
