Meghan Fardelmann notched the first hat-trick in Riveters history as New York won their first NWHL game following their trip to Japan. Janine Weber and Lyudmila Belyakova both scored a pair of goals in the victory.
Kelley Steadman scored Buffalo’s first goal, which led to several hundred teddy bears being thrown on-ice as part of the Beauts “Teddy Bear Toss” game. Devon Skeats and
Kourtney Kunichika also scored in the loss.
Amanda Makela would take over in the crease for Brianne McLaughlin after the Riveters fifth goal in the second period. Members of the Washington Capitals, including Alex Ovechkin were in attendance at HARBORCENTER.
