With a strong finish to the 2015 year, junior forward Shane Conacher (Burlington, Ontario) collected Atlantic Hockey Player of the Month accolades, announced by the league on Wednesday.
In five December games, Conacher led the Griffs with nine points, five goals and four assists, while also registering a pair of game-winning tallies. He began the month with a five-point weekend in a series at Air Force, which included a three-point performance in a victory in the series finale. He also registered three points on a pair of tallies and one assist in a win over first-place Robert Morris before finishing the month with a goal at nationally-ranked Merrimack.
During his junior campaign, Conacher has totaled 25 points, 11 goals, 14 assists and four game-winning tallies in 20 games. He ranks eighth nationally in points, 17th in goals, 14th in assists and third in game-winning goals.
Conacher and the Griffs return to the ice this weekend with a pair of games against conference rival RIT. The schools are set to meet in Rochester, beginning on Friday at 7:05 p.m.
