Niagara Falls, NY Native Clendening Recalled By Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled defenseman Adam Clendening from his conditioning assignment with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

Clendening, 23, appeared in six games with WBS, notching three assists and posting a plus-4. He has one assist in nine NHL games with Pittsburgh this year.

Pittsburgh’s 3-1 victory in Montreal on Saturday night improved the team’s record to 5-2-2 in its last nine games. The Penguins play a division game against the Carolina Hurricanes this Tuesday at 7 p.m. at PNC Arena.

The WBS Penguins have won five-consecutive games to move 12 points ahead of the second-place Portland Pirates in the Atlantic Division. WBS resumes action this Tuesday-Wednesday with back-to-back games in St. John’s, both at 7:30 p.m.
