The 3rd Annual Face Off Against Colon Cancer Game will be held this Friday, January 29th, at 6:45 pm. We are asking media outlets to share our story and help our players increase awareness about this horrible disease. The RFA Black Knights will Face Off Against FM. These young men want to “White Out” the John F. Kennedy Arena on Friday night. We are asking for the community’s support to come out and support the RFA Black Knights as they fight for a cause that means so much to them, as they have seen their beloved coach battle this dreadful disease!

The RFA Ice Hockey Booster Club has set up a fund in honor of Coach Pete Mastracco who has been battling colon cancer since 2007. Those that have been around Rome Youth Hockey and RFA Hockey, are well aware of the dedication and support Coach Mastracco has given to the great sport of hockey, even as he continues to fight the battle against this awful disease! For those of you that do not know Coach Mastracco, he has been a strong influence on many RYHA and RFA Hockey players, and for that we are asking the community to show their support.

A new tradition has begun in which an annual “Colon Cancer Awareness” game will benefit research in finding a cure as well as educating others of the risks and symptoms of this terrible disease.

In 2014 RFA Faced Off Against CNS. Over $22,000 was raised in honor of Coach Mastracco. In 2015 RFA Faced Off Against West Genny and $5,500 was raised. As noted above, this year the RFA Black Knights will Face Off against FM on Friday night at 6:45 pm. Contributions can be made at the rink or online at https://www.gofundme.com/faceofffund. Our goal is $7,500 for this year!

Come and support your RFA Black Nights as they continue their messaging of “Get Checked From Behind”!
