PRINCETON, N.J. – Colgate scored three unanswered goals, including two early in the third period, to erase a one-goal deficit and defeat Princeton, 5-4, in ECAC Hockey action Friday at Hobey Baker Rink.

Trailing 4-2 late in the second period, the Raiders used goals from rookie Adam Dauda and seniors Tyson Spink and Kevin Lough over a 6:52 span to post the one-goal victory and earn a season sweep of the Tigers.

Dauda began the comeback with 93 seconds left to play in the second, netting his first collegiate goal with a one time from the middle of the slot while the Raiders were on the power play to make it a 4-3 contest.

Spink tied the game at 4-4 just 1:12 into the third, collecting a loose puck in the slot and beating Princeton keeper Colton Phinney with a backhander for his 12th goal of the season.

Lough put the Raiders in front for good with 5:19 gone in the final frame, firing home a rebound from the left faceoff dot after Mike Panowyk’s initial attempt was stopped by Phinney for his first goal of the campaign.

Earlier in the contest, Princeton jumped out to an early 3-1 lead after the first period as it used goals from Alex Riche, Eric Robinson and Garrett Skrbich to neutralize an even-strength goal from Evan Peterson.

Tylor Spink brought the Raiders within one midway through the second period when he finished off a shorthanded break at the 12:26 mark to make it a 3-2 game, only to see Max Veronneau score just 88 seconds later during a 5-on-3 power play to restore the Tigers’ two-goal advantage and setup Colgate’s comeback.

Colgate netminder Charlie Finn made 28 saves in goal for Colgate. Phinney turned aside 40 shots for Princeton.
