UTICA, NY- Junior Keira Goin (Dobbs Ferry, NY/Hotchkiss School) of the Utica College women’s hockey team was named the ECAC West Goalie of the Week, Monday, for the fourth time this season.
Goin stopped a career-high 55 shots, just one shy of the school record, as the Pioneers earned a thrilling 4-2 victory over nationally ranked No. 1 Plattsburgh State on Saturday. The loss snapped the Cardinals’ 33-game winning streak that dated back to Feb. 7, 2015. Goin is currently fifth nationally in save percentage (.951) and seventh in goals against average (1.35).
The Pioneers wrap up regular season play this weekend as they host conference foe, Buffalo State. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
