BUFFALO, N.Y.—Taylor Pryce (Newmarket, ON/Cardinal Carter) scored twice and Buffalo State won its fifth-consecutive game, defeating visiting Oswego, 3-1, tonight in a SUNYAC contest at the Ice Arena. The Bengals set a new school record with their 14th victory of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Anthony Beaumont (Lester, PA/Interboro) opened the scoring for Buffalo State with his 10th of the season just 4:37 into the game with assists from Ryan Salkeld (Virginia Beach, VA/Churchland) and Jonathan Hall (Greenfield, IN/Connections Academy).
Pryce converted on an Oswego defensive turnover and scored on a breakaway less than two minutes later to give the Bengals a 2-0 lead.
Oswego cut the lead in half early in the second period, but Pryce netted his second of the game and 15th of the season on the power play just 2:02 later to restore the two goal lead and complete the scoring. Salkeld and Brody Power (Toronto, ON/Upper Canada College) drew the assists.
Mike DeLaVergne (Pawling, NY/Pawling) finished with 30 saves for the Bengals, including 12 in the third to record the win in goal.
Buffalo State outshot the Lakers, 36-31.

NOTEWORTHY
DeLaVergne matched Kevin Carr’s school record set in 2012-13 with his 13th win of the season in goal.
With the win, Buffalo State has clinched at minimum a home playoff game, securing no lower than third place. The Bengals remain one point behind Geneseo for second with the Knights scheduled to close out their regular season tomorrow at Plattsburgh.
Tonight’s win marks just Buffalo State’s second-ever victory over Oswego in 48 meetings.
