Tucker Weppner recorded a shutout against the Mississauga Chargers as the Buffalo Jr. Sabres picked up a 6-0 win.

Buffalo was led by Joshua Biasillo, who registered one goal and one assist. Biasillo scored 8:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Buffalo. Nicholas Bondra assisted on the tally.

The Jr. Sabres forced Mississauga’s goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, getting 50 shots and forcing 44 saves. Andrew Cipollone made 37 stops and Tyler Richardson made seven. Buffalo excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Jr. Sabres were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 44 penalty minutes.

Buffalo additionally got points from Zach Evancho, who also tallied two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Buffalo also had goals scored by Mitchell Spring, Bryce Ferrell, and Dylan Seitz, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Buffalo were Aaron Reinig, Christopher Berger, Brenden Dunning, Griffin Lunn, and Ryan Wheeler, who contributed one each and Tim Nicksic and Christian DiFelice, who each chipped in two.

The Chargers were held below their usual level of production. Mississauga puts an average of 2.5 pucks into the net per game. The Chargers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 50 minutes in penalties during the game.

Weppner recorded 26 saves for Buffalo. The Jr. Sabres registered three goals on six power play opportunities.
