Shaw Named To USCHO.com All-Rookie Team

Hobart College first-year defenseman Tanner Shaw (Toronto, Ontario) was recently named to the 2015-16 USCHO.com All-Rookie Team.

Shaw played in 27 games this winter and was also named to the ECAC West All-Rookie Team. He posted 11 points on five goals and six assists. He was named to the ECAC West weekly honor roll and the D3hockey.com National Team of the Week once.

Shaw recorded his first collegiate goal, which proved to be the game winner, in a 5-3 victory at Nazareth. The next day he notched two assists in a 5-1 win at Utica. Shaw again produced two assists in a 4-2 win over Curry. He scored two goals, including the game winner, in a 3-0 shutout of Neumann in the ECAC West tournament semifinal game. His efforts earned him a spot on the ECAC West All-Tournament Team. Shaw also played a key role in the Hobart defense that finished the year tied for fifth in the nation allowing an average of 1.86 goals per game.

Hobart finished the season with a 21-5-2 overall record and a 12-3-0 mark in the ECAC West. The Statesmen tied the program record for wins in a season and made their sixth NCAA tournament appearance. Hobart captured its fourth ECAC West regular season and tournament titles.
