Hobart College seniors Lino Chimienti (Montreal, Quebec) and Brad Robbins (Murrieta, Calif.) were recently selected D3hockey.com All-Americans. Both Chimienti and Robbins earned spots on the third team.
An AHCA second team All-American and All-ECAC West first team selection, Chimienti posted a .946 save percentage and a 1.17 goals against average this winter. His save percentage ranks first on the Hobart single season list and his goals against average ranks second. He posted an 11-3-2 record in goal. Chimienti turned aside all 30 shots he faced to secure a 5-0 shutout victory against Utica in the ECAC West tournament championship game. His efforts earned him a spot on the ECAC West All-Tournament team. Chimienti finished his senior season ranked second in the nation in save percentage, eighth in goals against average and tied for 14th in win percentage.
In 51 career games, Chimienti logged 31 wins, a .921 save percentage, a 2.42 goals against average and three shutouts. The three-time ECAC West All-Academic selection ranks fourth on the career list for wins, fourth in save percentage, fourth in goals against average, tied for fourth in shutouts and sixth in saves (1378).
An AHCA third team All-American and All-ECAC West first team pick, Robbins led Hobart with 32 points and 19 goals. He played in all 28 games this winter. Robbins tied a Hobart record for assists in a game with four in a 7-3 win over Utica during the regular season. He scored all three goals in a 3-0 win over Nazareth. Robbins notched two or more points in eight games, all wins for Hobart. He scored three goals, including the game-winner in the championship game, in the ECAC West Tournament. Robbins earned a spot on the ECAC West All-Tournament team and was tabbed the Most Outstanding Player.
Robbins transferred to Hobart as a junior. He played in 52 games in his two seasons as a Statesman. Robbins posted 28 goals and 21 assists for 49 career points.
Hobart finished the year with a 21-5-2 overall record, matching the program record for wins in a season. The Statesmen made their sixth NCAA tournament appearance after capturing their fourth ECAC West regular season and tournament titles.
