Senators Sign Gagne To Three-Year, Entry-Level Contract

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Ottawa Senators announced that the club has signed forward Gabriel Gagne to a three-year, entry-level contract.

A native of Laval, Que., Gagne spent most of the 2015-16 season with the Shawinigan Cataractes of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League after being dealt from the Victoriaville Tigres. Gagne registered eight points in eight games with Victoriaville before tallying 12 goals and 16 assists in 34 games with Shawinigan. In 11 playoff games with the Cataractes, the 6-foot-5, 186-pounder racked up 22 points in 21 games and helped lead Shawinigan to the QMJHL’s President’s Cup Final.

The 19-year-old has recorded a total of 132 points (68 goals, 64 assists) in his junior career and was the Senators’ first second-round selection (36th overall) in the 2015 NHL Draft.

Binghamton begins its regular season at home on Saturday, October 15 against the defending Eastern Conference Champion, Hershey Bears. Puck drops at 7:05 p.m. inside Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena.
