(Rochester, NY) – The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has signed forward Brady Vail to a 25-game Professional Tryout. In a related move, the Amerks have released forward Tyson Fawcett from his Professional Tryout and reassigned defenseman Brycen Martin to the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL. Fawcett will also report to Elmira.

Vail, 22, has appeared in two games with the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL this season, scoring two goals and adding one assist for three points. In 136 career ECHL games with Solar Bears and Komets, the 6-foot-1, 196-pound forward has collected 90 points on 37 goals and 53 assists. Vail has also registered four points (1+3) in 23 American Hockey League contests with the Hamilton Bulldogs and Toronto Marlies.

Prior to turning pro, Vail spent the 2009-10 campaign with the Waterloo Black Hawks (USHL) before joining the Windsor Spitfires (OHL) the following year. In four seasons with the Spitfires, he totaled 200 points (77+123), including a career-best 83-point campaign in 2013-14 that placed him inside the league’s top 20 scorers. Vail was drafted in the fourth round (94th overall) by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Fawcett, 23, appeared in two games with the Amerks this season. Last season with the Evansville Icemen of the ECHL, the 5-foot-7, 165-pound forward skated in all 72 games, recording 42 points (22+20). During the 2014-15 campaign, Fawcett earned ECHL All-Star honors after posting 24 points (9+15) in 59 games for the Brampton Beast.

Martin, 20, was a healthy scratch for the first three games this season with the Amerks. In 277 career WHL games with the Everett Silvertips, Saskatoon Blades and Swift Current Broncos, Martin has amassed 131 points (21+110). The Calgary, Alberta, native made his professional debut at the end of the 2014-15 season with the Amerks, appearing in two games.
