Chamberlain and Williams Win Atlantic Hockey Weekly Awards

(Chamberland Pictured) – After scoring a power-play hat trick in a 6-3 victory over Robert Morris this past Friday, sophomore forward Felix Chamberland was named Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week, announced by the conference Tuesday. Along with Chamberland, senior Charles Williams was named Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Week after going 1-0-1 over the weekend series, owning a .922 save percentage on 59 saves.

Chamberland, who added an assist on Saturday, has registered four points in six games this season. In 43 career contests, the Quebec City, Quebec native has totaled 18 points with nine goals and nine assists.

Williams anchored the Griffs in the 6-3 win versus the Colonials with 27 saves, while making 32 saves in Saturday’s 2-2 tie.

In four games during his senior season, the Canton, Mich. native has posted a 2-1-1 record, to go along with a 2.43 goals against average and a .927 save percentage.

The weekly accolade is the second for Chamberland in his career and the first for Williams.

The Griffs return to action with a weekend road series against nationally-ranked Penn State. Canisius is set to battle the 19th-ranked Nittany Lions Friday and Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
