ERIE, Pa. – Following Friday’s decisive 4-2 win at Mercyhurst, the Syracuse women’s hockey team dropped a 4-3 decision to the Lakers Saturday afternoon at Mercyhurst Ice Center.

“We played well for two periods and built a 3-1 lead only to let Mercyhurst dominate us in the third,” head coach Paul Flanagan said. “It was a very disappointing loss.”

Stephanie Grossi scored two goals on the day to bring her season total to four. Brooke Avery netted her second goal of the season in the second period.

Goaltender Abbey Miller finished the game with 23 saves.

The Orange will return to Syracuse for a weekend exhibition against the Minnesota Whitecaps on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s game will be played at War Memorial Arena at 3 p.m. Sunday’s contest will be held at Tennity Ice Pavilion at 12 p.m.
