DANBURY, Conn. – After backstopping the Manhattanville College men’s hockey team to a pair of conference victories over the weekend, sophomore Tyler Feaver (Whitby, Ont./Whitby Fury (OJHL)) was named the ECAC West Conference Goalie of the Week for the first time in his career, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.

Feaver extended his and the team’s winning streak to four games by picking up the victory in both Manhattanville wins last week, posting a 2.00 goals against average and .930 save percentage in 120 minutes of action as the Valiants defeated Lebanon Valley College, 4-3, and Stevenson University, 5-1.

The sophomore started his week by making 25 saves in Friday’s 4-3 win over the Dutchmen to help the Valiants get over the .500 mark for the first time all year. The next night, he stopped a season-best 28 shots and ceded a career-low one goal against the Mustangs to complete the weekend.

For the season, Feaver has posted a 4-3-0 record with a 3.15 goals against average and .886 save percentage.

Feaver and the Valiants will face arguably their toughest test of the season this weekend, when the team welcomes consensus #1 Saint Norbert College to Playland Ice Casino for a pair of games beginning on Friday at 7 p.m. It will mark only the third time in program history that the Valiants have faced off against the top-ranked team in the nation and the first time since dropping 3-2 and 8-2 games to Rochester Institute of Technology in 2001.
