LAKE FOREST (IL.) – Visiting Nazareth scored its lone goal in the third period as Lake Forest cruised to a 4-1 win Friday night with three power play goals in the game. Marcus Moles scored the lone goal for the Golden Flyers, his first tally of the season.
Nazareth falls to 4-4-1 with the loss, while the Foresters improve to 6-4.
In an even first period the Foresters were the lone team to find the net. Jimmy Cusan took a pass from Anthony Annunziato 8:25 into the game for his second goal of the year.
Lake Forest added two more goals in the second period to push its lead to 3-0. It took just :53 seconds for Lake Forest to find the net in the period, converting on the power play.
Midway through the period, the Foresters struck again on the power play, off a goal from Charlie Izaguirre for the final goal of the period.
Shawn Nelson lit the lamp just three minutes into the third period to add some cushion to the lead, making it 4-0.
It was not until four minutes remained in the game that Nazareth scored for the first time. Moles scored off an assist from Zander Pryor.
Brandon Lane finished with 32 saves in net for Nazareth.
Lake Forest finished with a 36-33 edge in shots.
Nazareth will have a re-match against Lake Forest on Saturday, with a 4 p.m. (EST) start time.
