BINGHAMTON, NY. – The Binghamton Senators, American Hockey league affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Ottawa Senators, announced today that the club has signed forward Jason Akeson to an AHL contract.
Akeson, 26, returns to the B-Sens after playing in 17 games this year for the Kontinental Hockey League’s Vladivostok Admiral. The forward came to Binghamton in a seven-player trade with the Rochester Americans last season and scored 22 points (5 goals, 17 assists) in the final 21 games of the season.
Akeson has appeared in 15 NHL games with the Philadelphia Flyers and scored his only NHL goal on his first shot. In 338 AHL games throughout his career, Akeson has 94 goals and 183 assists.
