SCHENECTADY, NY – The Union College women’s hockey team fell to Princeton on Saturday afternoon at Messa Rink.

The Tigers netted seven goals in route to a 7-0 shutout victory over the Dutchwomen as Princeton had seven different goal scorers.

They opened up the scoring at the 4:19 mark of the first period when Kiersten Falck beat Union goalie Amelia Murray as the puck just trickled over the line. Initially called no goal on the ice, the referees determined it a good goal upon video review.

Claire Thompson added to their lead as she took a pass from Falck and put it in the back of the net to make it 2-0 after one period.

Murray would remain busy in the second period but, she was up to the task stopping all 14 Tiger shots on goal. She made 32 saves in total.

Princeton would add five more goals in the third period including two on the powerplay to cap of the win at Union.

The Dutchwomen are back on the ice on Friday Dec. 9 when they travel to Maine for a two game series with the Black Bears.
