BRIDGEPORT, CT – The Binghamton Senators were unable to take advantage of five chances on the power play in a 4-0 shutout loss to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in front of 5,012 at Webster Bank Arena on Saturday night.

After several opportunities by Binghamton to start the game, Bridgeport converted after their first shot on net to take the lead. Jesse Graham moved in from his point position and threw the puck on net that was stopped by Matt O’Connor. After a crowd gathered in front of the crease on the loose puck, Travis St. Denis provided the final touch for his second of the year at 11:30 with assists from Andrew Rowe and Graham.

Bridgeport took a 2-0 lead on a power play at 14:24 of the opening period. St. Denis factored in again as he sent a cross-ice pass to Josh Ho-Sang on the left wing side and he fired a shot that was stopped by O’Connor. Tanner Fritz had two chances at the rebound and slid the puck over the line for his sixth of the year. Binghamton held the shot advantage 14-9 and trailed 2-0 after twenty minutes.

After no scoring in the second period, Bridgeport added two more in the third. Bracken Kearns took a one-timer from the right wing circle and beat O’Connor on the glove side for a Sound Tigers’ 3-0 lead at 13:09 with assists from Ho-Sang and Graham. Finally, St. Denis recorded his second of the night and third of the year at 17:14 to seal a 4-0 victory for Bridgeport.

O’Connor stopped 24 of 28 in the loss and Stephon Williams denied all 37 he faced for the Sound Tigers in the victory.
