Amerks Sign Eric Baier To Professional Tryout

(Rochester, NY) – The Rochester Americans announced that the team has signed veteran defensemen Eric Baier to a Professional Tryout.

Baier, a seventh-year pro, has appeared in 19 games with the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL, where he currently leads all team defensemen with eight assists and 10 points this season. A native of North Kingstown, Rhode Island, Baier has totaled six points (2+4) over 46 career AHL games while also adding 121 points (37+84) in 308 ECHL contests.

Prior to turning pro, the 6-foot-2, 210-pound blueliner completed a four-year collegiate career at Providence College (H-East), where he collected 32 points (9+23) in 127 career games. During the 2010-11 campaign, he led all Friars defensemen in goals (5), assists (7) and points (12) in 34 appearances.
