It will be ho-ho-d’oh for Wayne Gretzky this Sunday on “The Simpsons.”
In an exclusive photo from Gretzky’s guest appearance on the Dec. 11 episode of the long-running animated series (8 p.m. ET; FOX), the Great One appears with Santa Claus.
Gretzky, the leading scorer in NHL history, is the first hockey player to lend his voice to “The Simpsons,” which is in its 28th season.
“People argue about a lot of things, but they never argue about who’s the greatest hockey player. It’s always him,” Al Jean, an executive producer on the series since 1988, said of Gretzky, who recorded his part during the summer. “I don’t think there is anybody better at anything than Gretzky is as a hockey player. He had a lot of great stories, and it was a real pleasure to meet him.”
