The Hamilton College men’s hockey team has improved two spots to ninth in the latest USCHO.com Division III Top 15 poll released on Monday.
The Continentals (8-0-2 overall), who received one first-place vote, are the only team without a loss in NCAA men’s hockey. Their 10-game unbeaten streak is tied for the longest current streak in Division III.
Hamilton boasted an 11-game unbeaten string last season from early December to late January. The Continentals will need to defeat NESCAC rivals Colby and Bowdoin this weekend if they want to eclipse last season’s 11-game streak. Colby is ranked 14th in this week’s poll.
Hamilton, which leads Division III in scoring defense, is also ranked ninth in the most recent D3hockey.com Top 15 poll released on Dec. 12. Evan Buitenhuis ’18 is second in the nation with a .963 save percentage and is third with a 1.22 goals against average. Jason Brochu ’19 and Neil Conway ’18 lead the offense with 11 points apiece, and Brochu and Brandon Willett ’18 are tied for the team lead with five goals each.
The Continentals host Colby on Friday, Jan. 6 at 7 p.m. at Russell Sage Rink. Bowdoin visits Sage Rink on Saturday at 3 p.m.
