ALBANY, N.Y. – Colgate men’s ice hockey freshman forward Bobby McMann (Wainwright, Alberta) has been named the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday, January 3.
McMann’s rookie of the week selection is the second of his career after he earned the honor on Nov. 1. He is one of two Raiders to be honored with a weekly award from ECAC Hockey as Jared Cockrell (Byfield, Massachusetts) claimed the honor on Oct. 25.

McMann tallied a pair of assists this past weekend to kick off the second half of the season at the Ledyard Classic hosted by Dartmouth. He recorded both assists against nationally ranked No. 7/7 UMass Lowell for his first career multiple-assist game and second career multiple-point game. He was tied for the most points by an ECAC Hockey rookie over the weekend. He had the primary assist on Colgate’s first goal before tracking down his own rebound to set up Colgate’s second goal with the secondary assist. He also led all ECAC Hockey rookies with 13 shots this weekend.

So far this season, McMann is tied with Tim Harrison (Duxbury, Massachusetts) for third on the team in points with 11 while McMann’s seven assists are tied with Adam Dauda (Kitchener, Ontario) for third on the team. McMann leads all Colgate rookies in goals (4), assists (7) and points (11) while his 64 shots on goal is tops on the team. Among ECAC Hockey rookies, he ranks eighth in points, tied for sixth in goals and tied for ninth in assists.

The Colgate men’s ice hockey team is off this weekend and returns to action on Friday, Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. when the Raiders face the nationally ranked No. 15/15 Quinnipiac Bobcats at High Point Solutions Arena. The game will be broadcast on SNY and TSN Go in Canada.
