BUFFALO, N.Y. (February 27, 2017) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team will celebrate women’s hockey at the final home game of Hockey is for Everyone™ month against the Nashville Predators on Feb. 28.

All girls who participate in local hockey programs can purchase 300 Level II tickets to the game for $25. The specially-priced tickets can be purchased at Sabres.com. Players are encouraged to wear their team jerseys to the game.

United States gold medalist Shelley Looney will be in attendance and members of the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women’s Hockey League will hold an autograph session in the 100 Level pavilion prior to the game. Two local high school girls teams will take part in a hockey obstacle course on the ice during the second intermission.

Throughout February, the Sabres have hosted multiple programs and events that embrace the spirit of Hockey is for Everyone™ month:

· On Feb. 7, the team held You Can Play Night during their game against the San Jose Sharks. The You Can Play Project advocates for the inclusion, acceptance and respect of LGBTQ athletes in sports.
· On Feb. 15, the Dipson Amherst Theatre screened Soul On Ice: Past, Present & Future, a documentary recognizing many of the contributions black athletes have made to ice hockey. Proceeds from the showing supported Hasek’s Heroes, a charitable organization that helps children in need.
· The Sabres announced today they would be donating a total of $500,000 to five local organizations that bring the game of hockey to disabled individuals, disadvantaged youth and veterans. The donations will be divided evenly among SABAH, Hasek’s Heroes, Buffalo Sabres Warriors, Buffalo Sabres Thunder Special Hockey Team and Buffalo Sabres Sled Hockey Team.
