Hamilton College remained at No. 8 in the D3hockey.com and USCHO.com Division III men’s Top 15 polls on Monday, Feb. 27.

The Continentals (18-3-4 overall) kept their No. 8 ranking from last week after a 4-2 win against Bowdoin College in a 2017 NESCAC Men’s Hockey Championship quarterfinal on Saturday. Hamilton is in the top ten in both polls for the ninth straight week. The Continentals have won six straight games.

Hamilton hosts the semifinals and final of the NESCAC championship this weekend for the first time. The Continentals take on the championship’s seventh seed Wesleyan University in one semifinal at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 4 at Russell Sage Rink. Hamilton was 1-0-1 against Wesleyan this season with a 2-0 win in Middletown, Conn., back on Dec. 3 and a 3-3 tie at home on Jan. 28.

The other semifinal starts at 1 p.m. and features third-seeded Trinity College and No. 4 seed Williams College. Sunday’s final is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. The Continentals are the top seed for the second time in the 18-year history of the championship (also in 2011).

Hamilton is second in NCAA Division III in scoring defense with 1.60 goals allowed per game and second in penalty kill at 90.1 percent (82-for-91). The Continentals have the fourth-best winning percentage (.800) in the division.
