University of Michigan standout joins team on ATO for remainder of current season
(Rochester, NY) – The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has agreed to terms with forward Alex Kile on an American Hockey League contract for the 2017-18 season. Kile will join the Amerks for the remainder of this season on an Amateur Tryout (ATO).
Kile, 22, recently completed a four-year collegiate career at the University of Michigan (Big-10), recording 14 points (7+7) and 21 penalty minutes in 28 games this season while serving as team captain for the Wolverines.
During the 2015-16 season, the 6-foot-0, 193-pound forward helped Michigan capture its first Big-10 Tournament Championship in school history. As a junior, he had a breakout season, establishing career-highs in every offensive category, including goals (16), assists (18) and points (34) while finishing fourth among all Michigan skaters in overall scoring.
The Troy, Mich. native, finished his four-year career at the University of Michigan with 80 points (40+40) and 78 penalty minutes in 130 games with the Wolverines.
