POTSDAM, N.Y.-Yesterday, SUNY Potsdam men’s hockey assistant coach Pat Borer presented Judd Plumb (pictured above), a member of the Board of Directors for the Wounded Warrior Outdoor Adventures, with a check for $1300. This money was raised during the third annual Military Appreciation Night on Jan. 28.
The Bears wore special jerseys during the game against Buffalo State. The team then auctioned off some of the jerseys and donated the proceeds as well as proceeds from the 50/50 raffle to the Wounded Warrior Outdoor Adventures.
Head Coach Chris Bernard and Chuck Campagna were instrumental is orchestrating the event. Mr. Campagna donated the money for the camouflaged jerseys the Bears wore during the game.
Bernard spoke about the importance of recognizing our military personnel and supporting them with events like this one.
“We are always grateful for the support of our fans to assist us in recognizing our outstanding military personnel,” said Bernard. “Each year it is a privilege to host a game that acknowledges those protecting our freedoms. We, especially, appreciate everyone that made a financial contribution to the cause. The efforts of Chuck Campagna and Pat Massaro who is our volunteer assistant coach & active reserve officer, are instrumental, each year, in making the event a success.”
