Two NY Natives Added To US Roster For 2017 World Jr. Summer Showcase

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Defensemen David Farrance (Victor, N.Y./U.S. National Under-18 Team (NTDP)) and J.D. Greenway (Canton, N.Y./Univ. of Wisconsin (Big Ten)) have been added to the U.S. roster for the 2017 World Junior Summer Showcase at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.

Farrance, who helped the U.S. claim the gold medal at the 2017 International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Men’s World Championship in Poprad and Spisska Nova Ves, Slovakia, will arrive today and skate for USA White. A member of the bronze medal-winning U.S. Men’s National Under-18 Team at th 2016 IIHF Under-18 Men’s World Championship in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Greenway will arrive tonight and skate for USA Blue starting tomorrow.

The 2017 World Junior Summer Showcase continues today at USA Hockey Arena with USA Blue facing Finland at 1 p.m. ET, followed by USA White versus Sweden at 4 p.m. ET. The Showcase serves as an audition for players seeking to make their federation team that will compete at the 2018 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship, Dec. 26, 2017 – Jan. 5, 2018, in Buffalo, New York.
