COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Hockey announced today the hiring of Mellissa Lewis as manager of annual giving for the USA Hockey Foundation and Amanda Raider as executive assistant in addition to the promotion of three staff members, including Madison Brown to manager of events; Andrew Ketterer to manager of social media and digital content, and Sheila May to manager of grants and stewardship for The USA Hockey Foundation.
LEWIS HIRED AS MANAGER OF ANNUAL GIVING FOR USA HOCKEY FOUNDATION
Lewis comes to USA Hockey from the University of Denver’s Barton Institute for Philanthropy and Social Enterprise where, as program coordinator, she helped secure a $4.5 million grant from the Arnold Foundation and also assisted with fundraising efforts aimed at raising $500,000 annually.
Lewis also spent time in the University of Denver athletic department where she was a sports program assistant. A native of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, Lewis worked closely with DU’s nationally ranked men’s ice hockey team, including the planning of execution of special engagement opportunities for donors.
In August 2015, Lewis was a founding member of Home Court Advantage Foundation, a community outreach organization dedicated to instilling disadvantaged youth with high potential but low socioeconomic opportunity from the Milwaukee, Chicago and Madison areas with confidence, leadership, and a Passion To Serve by teaching life lessons through sports, recreational activities, education and mentorship.
She will officially begin her duties with The USA Hockey Foundation on Sept. 5.
RAIDER NAMED EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
Raider has spent the last six years working in various capacities at the world class Broadmoor Hotel and Resort in Colorado Springs, Colo., including recruitment and training of employees in varied departments.
The Glendo, Wyo., native will provide primary support to USA Hockey Executive Director Pat Kelleher. She will begin her duties on Sept. 5.
BROWN PROMOTED TO MANAGER OF EVENTS
Brown, a native of Buffalo, New York, joined the USA Hockey staff in Oct. 2015 as coordinator of events and merchandise procurement. She has played a major role in the planning and execution of multiple world championships and other major events hosted by USA Hockey and has also contributed to streamlining efforts with the organization’s merchandise program.
KETTERER PROMOTED TO MANAGER OF SOCIAL MEDIA AND DIGITAL CONTENT
Ketterer has served as coordinator of social media and digital content since joining the USA Hockey staff in December 2015. The Peoria, Illinois, native oversees all of USA Hockey’s social media channels and has led efforts in utilizing advanced analytics for help guide content plans for the organization.
MAY PROMOTED TO MANAGER OF GRANTS & STEWARDSHIP FOR USA HOCKEY FOUNDATION
May has served as administrative assistant for The USA Hockey Foundation since March 2012. In her new role, she will focus on managing both the Foundation’s external grant award and stewardship programs. May first came to USA Hockey in 1988 where she served as secretary for the international, coaching education and member services departments until 1994. She returned to the organization in a part-time role in April 2005 in support of the coaching education program and as executive assistant before moving to The USA Hockey Foundation full time in 2012.
