BY RANDY SCHULTZ — NIAGARA FALLS, NY – Matthew Minichiello scored a three-goal hat-trick while Andrew Logar and Stephen Minichiello each added a four-point game to lead the Niagara Falls Powerhawks to a convincing 9-0 win over the Roc City Royals at Hyde Park Ice Pavilion.
Nathan Walerowicz opened the scoring for Niagara Falls in the first period. Minichiello added the next two goals in the opening period to give NF a 3-0 lead. Logar rounded out the first period scoring giving NF a 4-0 lead at the first intermission.
Stephen scored the lone goal of the second period to give the Powerhawks a 5-0 lead.
Logar scored his second goal of the game at 4:16 in the final stanza to increase the lead, 6-0. Brandon Schweickert made it 7-0 three minutes later.
Matthew scored his third goal at the 10:32 mark while brother Stephen added the teams final goal of the game at 19:03.
Kris Augustine recorded the shutout in goal for Niagara Falls.
