Hobart’s Haskell Named NEHC Player of the Week

Hobart College senior Jordan Haskell (Tooele, Utah) was named the New England Hockey Conference’s Player of the Week by the league office. In addition, the Statesmen moved up to No. 6 in the nation in this week’s D3hockey.com poll and remained at No. 10 in the USCHO.com poll.

Haskell registered two goals and two assists in a 2-0-0 NEHC weekend. He notched two goals in an 8-1 win at Southern Maine on Friday night and added two assists in a 5-2 win at New England College on Saturday.

The Statesmen are now 3-1-0 and 2-0-0 in conference play. Hobart is third in the nation on the power play, scoring on seven of its 18 chances this season (38.9%). The Statesmen are tied for 11th in scoring offense averaging 4.25 goals per game and are tied for 14th in scoring defense allowing an average of 1.75 goals per game. Hobart is also tied for 12th in Division III in win percentage (.750).

The Statesmen are back in action this weekend with two NEHC games. Hobart will host Castleton on Friday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m., and then take on defending national champion, Norwich, on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 4 p.m. Fans unable to make the games can follow the action online with Live Stats and All-Access Video.
