With Syracuse sweeping the only series on last week’s schedule, the Orange have swept the CHA weekly awards.
Player of the Week
Brooke Avery – Syracuse
Junior, Forward – Concord, NH/St. Paul’s School
In a two-game series against RIT, Avery tallied three goals and an assist. She posted a goal and an assist in game one and recorded a two-goal game in the series finale. It was the first two-goal game of her career. Her contributions led to the Orange outscoring the Tigers, 9-2 in the series and pick up four CHA points.
Goalie of the Week
Abbey Miller – Syracuse
Senior, Goalie – Anoka, MN/Benilde-St. Margaret’s
Miller combined to post 34 saves over two games against RIT, limiting the Tigers to just two goals in the series. She gave up one goal in each game as Syracuse swept the home-and-home series with RIT.
Rookie of the Week
Jessica DiGirolamo – Syracuse
Freshman, Forward – Mississauga, ONT/Oakville Junior Hornets
DiGirolamo tallied a pair of assists in game two against RIT. It was the first two-assist game of her career and she helped Syracuse to a 5-1 win in the series finale.
